UWF welcomes 2026 National Merit Finalists and top scholarship recipients

The University of West Florida welcomed two National Merit Finalists this fall semester, bringing the recipients of this scholarship to 20 students since 2017. James Donald “Jack” Treick and Micaiah Henry are among the approximately 16,000 students across the country who met the requirements for finalist standing out of an estimated 1.3 million participating high school students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship competition.

UWF partners with Home Base Florida to expand military wellness support in Northwest Florida

The University of West Florida announced a new partnership with Home Base Florida, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program, bringing the organization’s Warrior Health and Fitness program to UWF’s Pensacola campus. UWF is only one of three universities across the nation to house this program that will expand access to community-based health, fitness and wellness support for veterans, service members and military families across Northwest Florida.

UWF Theatre presents “Alice in Wonderland”

The University of West Florida Department of Theatre will present “Alice in Wonderland,” adapted by Anne Coulter Martens, based on the book by Lewis Carroll and produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. The production will open Friday, Oct. 2, and will close Sunday, Oct. 11.
