UWF WRITING LAB WORK
ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS DEADLINE POLICY
SUMMER TERM
Students must complete all English language skills lessons by the deadlines shown below or receive an INCOMPLETE for each lesson missed. There are no make-up dates for tutoring sessions. Since it is your instructor who is requiring you to attend these sessions, you should see him or her about any questions you have regarding missed tutoring sessions.
To prepare for Lab tests, students should read information in the Lab Work handbook--Real Good Grammar, Too. Click the hyperlinks below for review materials.
When making appointments for tutoring sessions, students are allowed to make appointments for the current week's skill and for the skills that are scheduled for the following two weeks. Therefore, students may make only three appointments according to the Diagnostic Skills Test sequence below.
The Mo 20-20-20 Tutoring Session: What You Can Expect and What Is Expected of You!
Each of the tutoring sessions will last one hour. These tutoring sessions are interactive and require students to engage in discussion with the tutor and fellow students. During the first twenty minutes, the tutor will review rules for the skill and lead an interactive discussion with the students. During the second twenty minutes, students will complete a worksheet on the skill. During the final twenty minutes, the tutor will lead an interactive discussion covering each of the questions on the worksheet and will answer any specific questions students may have.
