Your Own Internet Web Page
Developing Internet Web Pages is really quick and easy - once you get the hang of it. It's free, it's anonymous, and it's lots of fun!
Developing Internet Web Pages is a three step process:
- Step 1 - Determine what you want to communicate to the world. Pictures of the grandchildren, the RV, the beach, and your pets make good starting points. Personal travelogues are also popular, particularly if you share your lists of "do's and don'ts." Get out the pencil and paper and do some initial composition. A screen is approximately the size of a piece of typing paper.
- Step 2 - Develop your web page on your computer. You need an editor, so download one. My favorite, AceHTML 4 Freeware Editor, is an excellent free editor that can be found at this link. You will soon learn how to "toggle" back and forth between the editor and the browser on your computer. You can compose your entire web page on your computer before putting it on the Internet.
- Step 3 - Select a FREE Internet Web Page host, sign up for membership, and upload your pages to your site. I personally like Yahoo/Geocities. It is easy, quick, has an on-line editor for final fine tuning, and FREE. Go to Yahoo/Geocities to start the process.
There are numerous Free Servers available. Select one or more. I have experience with Geocities and WebJump.
