Search engines have "search argument windows" that permit you to enter the word or phrase on which you wish to search. The search engines then scan their databases and return lists of web pages that may or may not have the information you wish. You simply have to look at some of the sites to see if you have found what you want.
All search engines have "Advanced Search" capabilities or "Search Tips" available. For example, Yahoo has lots of information about how to frame your searches by clicking on the "advanced search" link to the right of the search argument window.
Use of search engines is a "hit or miss" proposition. You have to practice with them all and settle on one or two that you like best.
