Membership Information
There are two main types of AIS membership: institutional membership and organizational membership.
Institutional Membership
Institutional Membership allows a UWF student to become a member of UWF's local AIS chapter. Fees are minimal and can be paid for in yearly or half-year payments. $30 one year or $20 half year. Membership fees are solely used to support the meetings, like providing food and drinks.
Institutional member benefits include:
- AIS stole presented at graduation
- Accreditation as an AIS student organization member
- Opportunity to become an AIS officer
- Networking with other students and other AIS professionals
- Gain a competitive advantage to succeed within the IS field
- Gain world-wide recognition thru competition and award programs
- Expand their career opportunities
- Opportunity to help your fellow students and the community using your newly found skills as an MIS major

Organizational Membership
The international AIS organizational membership allows a student to be recognized as an AIS professional. This membership can be thought of as an additional level of membership. The common one year student membership is $125.
Organizational member benefits include:
- eLibrary- more than 10,000 articles and counting, proceedings from all the premier IS conferences and articles from six highly-regarded journals, with new content being added daily
- Journals- AIS members automatically receive access to three AIS journals (JAIS, CAIS, and RELCASI), as well as access to other prominent journals in the field, including MIS Quarterly and MIS Quarterly Executive
- Placement- access the latest job postings from top IS schools and corporate recruiters and post your resume free of charge through the AIS Placement Service. Yo'’ll also have access to the MIS Faculty Salary Survey to aid you in your negotiations. Since its launch in 2002, over 350 universities have posted positions in AIS Placement.
