The following TRiO students were named FIFA state champions: Alison Anderson, senior, for Poetry and Duo Interpretation; Colossia Butts, senior, for Information Speaking;

For a second year in a row, Colossia Butts also qualified for the Interstate Oratory Contest (IOA), a historic contest that invites the top two persuasive speakers from each state for the final competition of the season. UWF has represented the state of Florida at this national event for the last three years.

The remaining TRiO students are Colecta Johnson and Tara Louis.
