The MCAT is developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in cooperation with its member U.S. medical schools. The MCAT assesses mastery of basic concepts in biology, chemistry (general and organic), and physics; facility with scientific problem solving and critical thinking; and writing skills. The goal of the MCAT is to help admission committees predict which of their candidates will be successful in medical school. The MCAT is given in April and August of each year at established test centers (UWF is not a test center). If you register during the late registration period, there is an additional fee. Additional information about the test can be found online at the MCAT web page at the AAMC web site.
