The CLAST is an achievement test that measures selected communication and mathematics skills adopted by the State Board of Education. It includes four subtests: essay, English language skills, reading, and mathematics. The mathematics, reading, and English language skills subtests are multiple-choice. The essay requires written composition on one of two provided topics. Specific information about the CLAST requirement can be found in the current UWF Catalog. The Commissioner of Education has established the following registration and test dates for the CLAST for the coming year:
Paper-Pencil Test Administrations include all sections of CLAST including the Essay subtest.

There is no fee for the above test dates.

Computer-Adaptive Test (CLAST-CAT) Administrations are available at the UWF computer-based test center. Examinees may request to take one or more of the multiple-choice subtests of CLAST. This DOES NOT include the Essay subtest, which is given only via paper-pencil (see above dates). There is a testing fee for the CLAST-CAT and a separate registration.
