Team 1734 is Choctawhatchee's first U.S. First competition robotics team. The team is comprised of 9th-12th grade students who are enrolled in the University of West Florida Choctawhatchee High School Engineering Program. Mr. Kevin Rigby is the team's sponsor and leader. He's also the Engineering Program's instructor.
The students have done a majority of the work, with little help from parents or other adults. In the first week of the robot building process, team memebers discussed and debated design plans and machinery. The students were then off to build a robot. Holding many after school sessions, and being able to work during their designated class period, the team pulled together to get the program rolling.
