Argonaut Mascot
The myths of ancient Greece tell of Jason and the Argonauts, adventurers who left the comforts of a familiar land and sailed off to distant worlds in search of the golden fleece. We honor those sea-faring warriors by using Argonaut as the name to represent our student athletes. Royal blue and kelly green are the colors of the team uniforms.

The logo consists of the silhouette of an Argonaut surrounded by two concentric circles. There are two Argonaut design options, one with the words “UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA ATHLETICS,” and the other with the words “WEST FLORIDA ATHLETICS,” and “Go Argos!” superimposed in a display type. (See figure 1.) The Argonaut mascot logos must be displayed with visual integrity according to the following standards.

STANDARDS

• The “Go Argos” logo and athletics logo must be legible.
• The “Go Argos” logo and athletics logo typeface and proportions are not to be altered.
• The “Go Argos” logo and athletics logo is to be surrounded by a “clear area.”

TIP: The gray space around the logos below is the “clear area.” To preserve their visual integrity, no other graphics, type or background should distract or cause inadequate contract upon this protected space surrounding the logos.

• The “Go Argos” logo and athletics logo are not to be displayed in close proximity to each other, any University of West Florida logo or any non-UWF logo.
• Each Argonaut mascot logo is to be used in its entirety. Any part of the logo, such as the Argonaut graphic, is not to be used separately or placed with other graphics to create alternate logos.
• The “Go Argos” logo and athletics logo are registered marks.
