In October of 2011, the Departments of Art, Communication Arts, Music and Theatre aligned to form the School of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts (SFPCA). The SFPCA is committed to providing top quality academic and creative experiences for students. Academic advising is a key component to students accomplishing academic goals and making the most of the course opportunities available to them.
Beginning March 23, the SFPCA will provide expanded, integrated academic advising for all majors and minors in SFPCA departments (Art, Communication Arts, Music and Theatre). Advisors will be located in buildings 36 and 82. For issues of degree advising, course scheduling and pre graduation planning, students will work with SFPCA staff advisors. Faculty will no longer provide degree advising. Students, however, will be strongly encouraged to visit with faculty for career advising, mentoring, and additional insight related to his/her area of study. This change will ensure a more convenient, informed, and individualized academic advising for all SFPCA majors and minors.
On March 23rd student SASS audits will reassign advisors. Students will be able to visit any of the SFPCA advising locations.
