The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) is a resource that can provide or make referrals for Information, Mobility assistance, Amplified Telephone Equipment, Assistive Listening Systems, Braille Print, Typewriter Telephone (TTY), Sign Language Interpreters, Access for Low-vision/Blind, Closed Captioning (CC), Audio Description (Second Audio Program (SAP)), and Open Captioning (OC).
NOTE: Accommodations that require third-party support may be delayed (i.e., books on tape/CD/electronic textbooks or note takers) with the typical turnaround time being 2-3 weeks.
SDRC Enrollment Application [Now available in ARGUS under the "My Info" tab "Personal Student Records Access" channel and "Student Disability Resources" link or under the "Services" tab. Also available in Lighthouse for new students] - An enrollment application must be completed and documentation provided prior to receiving academic accommodations through SDRC. Once you complete the online enrollment application and provide your documentation, you must contact SDRC to make an appointment to meet with the SDRC staff.
Semester Classroom Accommodations Request [Now available in ARGUS under the "My Info" tab "Personal Student Records Access" channel and "Student Disability Resources" link or under the "Services" tab] - EVERY semester an online Classroom Accommodations Request form must be completed indicating the accommodation(s) you are requesting for each class. The accommodations provided by SDRC can include one or more of the items listed to the right.
Test Date/Time Request [Now available in ARGUS under the "My Info" tab "Personal Student Records Access" channel and "Student Disability Resources" link or under the "Services" tab] - Whenever possible, students who are eligible for testing accommodations are encouraged to schedule their exams under the direct supervision of their instructors or their designees. If instructors are not able to provide a space for your testing, students may request to take their exams at the SDRC. In order for SDRC to properly coordinate testing dates, students are required to submit a request form at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled exam date.
State of Florida Vocational Rehabilitation Application - Vocational Rehabilitation sponsors an office on campus located in the Student Affairs Building #21, Room 105. In certain cases, VR and SDRC work collaboratively to identify the best method to secure documentation to substantiate a disability for the student to receive educational accommodations. Theodore R. & Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship - The Johnson Scholarship, funded by the Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is a competitively awarded program which is available to undergraduate students with disabilities who enroll in a State University System of Florida (SUS) institution.
Dan McLeod Memorial Scholarship - The Dan McLeod Memorial Scholarship is a competitively awarded scholarship which is available to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who attend the University of West Florida (UWF). Students must adhere to the following application guidelines in order to qualify for consideration.
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars - The Washington Center is able to provide a total of 50 competitive scholarship awards in the amount of $8,500 for each eligible undergraduate student with disabilities interested in working in the executive, judicial or legislative branches of the federal government during the fall 2006 and spring 2007 semesters (scholarships are not available in the summer).

Educational Testing Services - This link provides information on standardized testing for students with disabilities wishing to enter or graduate from UWF. Information including requirements, documentation standards, procedures, and application can also be found at this site.
Appeal for Waiver of Graduation Requirement - Students with specific documented disabilites who cannot meet certain University undergraduate graduation requirements can appeal for a subsitution or waiver. For consideration, complete and print the form (it's interactive so type directly in the form). Then, bring the form to the SDRC office in Building 21/Room 130. If your documentation supports your claim, a letter supporting your appeal will be written and sent with the form to the Registrar's Office.
Temporary Services Request - Students requesting assistance through the Student Disability Resource Center for a temporarily disabling condition must complete this form. While all requests will be considered, there is no guarantee that such services will be provided.
