Career Paths in the Health Sciences
Save the Date! November 2, 4, 5, or 6, 2009, 10am-1pm
The School of Allied Health and Life Sciences (SAHLS) is
proud to present our FREE Fall Learn at Lunch Series. We will be offering 4
learn at lunch seminars to interested guidance counselors, IT Directors, school
nurses and any motivated teachers in K-12.
Each three-hour seminar is designed to give you new insights into careers
in health sciences to inform students and parents. Electronic resources will
be provided after the series for use in your school's career day events. A final
hour of hands-on computer training will provide tips and tricks in Microsoft
Word, PowerPoint and/or Excel.

| Learning Objectives |
At the conclusion of the seminar, attendees will be able to:
- Describe career paths in allied health leading to great job opportunities in Northwest Florida.
- Describe cutting-edge advancements happening now in the application of computers to medicine, clinical lab sciences, public health, and/or biomedicine.
- Identify electronic resources for K-12 students, parents, teachers and guidance counselors for use during advising and/or Career Day events.
- Apply new skills in Microsoft Office to be more efficient at work.

The Advisory Committee to the School of Allied Health and Life Sciences
consists of
members from health-related programs at UWF and members from the regional health
care and public health communities. This committee is responsible for identifying and evaluating
educational programs designed to fill regional workforce and public health needs.
