Welcome to the Medical Informatics Resource Site, hosted by the University of West Florida's School of Allied Health and Life Sciences in support of the Certificate in Medical Informatics Program and the Master of Public Health degree program. This site is also open to everyone in the medical informatics community at-large and provided to support the use of information technology to improve communication, patient safety and quality of care. For 2008, we have added many new web links and pdf articles under "Important Articles" in each section. A majority of these articles were written in the 2006-2008 time frame. We provide an electronic version of our textbook (Medical Informatics: Practical Guide for Healthcare Professional 2008) free of charge to students taking our online introductory course. Please be aware that all proceeds from the textbook go to an educational fund for Medical Informatics and not to the authors.
