First, make sure you have completed all steps to be accepted to our Certificate
in Medical Informatics program and admitted to UWF. If you are a degree-seeking
or non-degree student, you must also have completed all steps to clear all
holds on your Lighthouse account. The admission and account hold-lifting processes
are provided on our Application
Process page.
- Review the upcoming course schedules in
the Medical Informatics Program. If you are not sure which classes to take,
please read the information on the course schedules page regarding suggestions.
Please keep in mind that many of our courses are only scheduled ONCE or twice per year. You must register for courses as quickly as possible after
acceptance into our program and UWF.
- If you are pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Medical Informatics, you must register for the graduate level (5000-6000) version of the course.
- Review pricing for courses and information regarding the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver on our We Are Affordable page.
- All students pursing the undergraduate or graduate certificate are eligible for this Out-of-State Waiver.
- The Out-of-State Waiver must be submitted every semester at the time of registration.
- If you are a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student, it is
always best to contact the Enrollment Services Office directly for the
final costs based on your semester of enrollment to avoid any surprises.
Please contact them directly at (850) 474-3386. Alternatively, if you
are a continuing education student, you will receive a confirmation
email indicating the total of course enrollment costs.
- Please also note that if you are degree-seeking or non-degree seeking
student, the Admissions Office processes admissions applications and
determines Florida residency for new students, and you can reach them
at admissions@uwf.edu.
If you have any questions about the processing of your tuition waiver,
it would be best to contact the Online Campus Office at olcwaivers@uwf.edu.
Continuing education students do not need to process these admissions
or tuition waiver forms.
- If you are a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student, register for
courses through myUWF--the UWF academic portal for students.
Notice that towards the end of the registration process a link to the UWF
bookstore and books for registered courses will be provided.
- If you are a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student, once registered
for first courses through myUWF, activate your ArgoNet account which
provides access to the UWF Portal for students and faculty--my.uwf.edu..
Take the tour of my.uwf.edu,
and review the user guide also linked on the same page.
- Alternatively, if
you are a continuing education student, you will not receive an Argnonet account
and thus these steps can be skipped (instead, you will receive an email with
guest eLearning account information).
- If you have any questions about fee payments after registering for courses, please immediately make contact with the following offices:
- Go to the UWF online learning management system, eLearning,
and watch the demo for ArgoNet users.
- If you have completed all the steps above and need assistance logging into my.uwf.edu or eLearning, please contact our ITS help desk at helpdesk@uwf.edu or
at (850) 474-2075.
- Be Proactive! Think ahead to the job you want upon graduation.
- Start now
and follow the steps outlined on the Landing
a Job in Informatics page and register at the job sites provided.
- As suggested on the Landing a Job in Informatics site, be sure to set
aside time/funds to attend one of the recommended conferences to network
one-on-one with potential employers and recruiters well in advance of
your graduation date. To learn about possible open jobs or internships,
be sure to:
- Have your Cover Letters and CV/Resumes ready well in advance of graduation. As
suggested on the Landing a Job in Informatics site, use the FREE services
of UWF's Career Services for suggestions for improvement.
See their website for these and other services at http://uwf.edu/career/.
- Do well in your courses and participate as required. A grade of "C" or
better in each course is required to earn the Certificate.
- If you should ever need to drop a course during the first week of classes, please do so within the first 1-3 days of the course to allow time for other students to enroll. Please follow these instructions to drop a course:
-
degree-seeking or non-degree-seeking students: You can drop a course by logging into my.uwf.edu and selecting the link for "Registration Drop/Add and Trial Schedule." Dropping a course during the published drop/add period during the first week of classes results in no payment requirements and no record of the course on your college transcript. Alternatively, after the drop/add period ends during the first week of classes, the "course withdrawal" period begins. With a "course withdrawal," the course remains on your college transcript with a "W" recorded in place of a grade and you remain responsible for fees. If you have any questions about dropping courses during the published drop/add period during first week of classes or withdrawing from courses after the drop/add period has ended, please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@uwf.edu or (850) 474-2244.
- continuing education students: Please contact the Division of Continuing and Distance Education at cde@uwf.edu or (850) 473-7468.
- When you are in your final semester of enrollment, print out the Completion
Checklist form, located in the Important Links box above. Fill in
the information on this form and submit it as indicated. Once this form is
confirmed by your advisor and you complete your final course(s) with a grade
of "C" or better, your Certificate of Completion for our program
will be delivered to you using the current contact information on file within
your UWF student account.
We'd Like to Hear from You
