Summary papers must be focused on pertinent themes and concepts contained in the primary source readings and be no longer than 8-12 pages double-spaced. Papers are to be based primarily on assigned material; don't use texts or internet resources. Proof read all papers - writing style and correctness counts! Include the following specific sections:
Describe the theorists view of people/humankind; view of personality; and their conception of health/wellness and disorder
Describe treatment approach
Describe nature of client-therapist relationship, and importance assigned to this
Critique of theory/approach: strengths and limitations; personal reaction; questions, concerns, comments about material

Bibliotherapy book summary and critique: In APA format, please summarize content and critical themes in chosen "self-help" book. Describe how you might use this reading with clients. Attach related bibliography of books in your chosen area that might be helpful to students, clients, and therapists. 8-10 pages.

other books at our joint discretion: For a more challenging assignment, you may also choose a reading that focuses on a formal, empirically supported treatment approach/manual for a specific type of disorder or problem in living.
For all writing assignments, use a title page and number your pages. Citations, when needed, should follow APA format / publication manual. For example, if quoting from your reading, you must cite the page(s) numbers where the passage was found. Also note page numbers when presenting specific ideas of the author.
