FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Am I an eligible Senior Citizen? Senior citizens must be sixty (60) years old or older and meet the Florida residency requirements for tuition purposes.
How can I register using a senior citizen tuition
fee waiver?
In order to register for classes, students must be admitted to the University.
Senior Citizens may apply online at http://uwf.edu/admissions/nondegree.
For additional information regarding Admission status contact the Admissions
Office at (850) 474-2230 or admissions@uwf.edu.
Students who have not been enrolled for one year or more must re-submit a
Non-Degree application. Senior Citizens may register online during the senior
citizen registration period by accessing MyUWF
and using the Registration, Drop/Add, and Trial Schedule app in the Registration folder.
How do I find Courses?
Students can access the online course search from the MyUWF
Registration folder. The online course search
lists courses which are offered in a specific semester or term. This
service allows students to search for courses in a variety of ways, including
by department, instructor, location, days and/or times, and even by title.
Course and reference numbers must match the course name(s) listed on the UWF Senior
Citizen Tuition Fee Waiver form to ensure the
appropriate fees are waived.
How do I ensure my tuition will be waived?
Each semester of participation, Senior Citizens must submit a new UWF Senior
Citizen Tuition Fee Waiver form after course registration (during the drop/add period). UWF will
accept scanned copies at registrar@uwf.edu or
faxed copies to 850.473.7345. Students are responsible for outstanding fees for
course(s) which do not match the authorized waiver form. In such cases,
appropriate late registration fees and late payment fees will also be assessed. Approved
alternate courses are encouraged and must be listed on the waiver form for
consideration.
When will my registration be processed?
Students may process their own registration online beginning the first day
of classes through the end of the drop/add period. Once the senior citizen
registration period begins, the Registrar's Office will review submitted forms
for registration compliance and remove any late registration fees.
Senior citizen tuition fee waivers will be processed beginning the
week of drop/add.
Please do not attempt to register through any other registration process or prior to the senior citizen waiver registration dates or the waiver is not applicable.
How will I know my registration has been completed?
Class schedules may be retrieved through the MyUWF Student Records folder.
How will I know my waiver was applied? Students may review their account balance online by accessing MyUWF and using the Account Balance app in the Financial Resources folder. Fees will be assessed with a balance due until compliance and eligibility have been approved and the fee waiver applied. The fee system generally updates during the week of drop/add.
