American Red Cross Lifeguard Training 31 ¼ hours $160.00 (includes textbook).
The purpose of the ARC lifeguarding course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergancies.
Prerequisites: 1) 15 years of age on or before the last scheduled class, 2) swim 300 yards continuously as follows: 100 yds. crawl, 100 yds. breaststroke, and 100 yds. crawl and/or breast, 3) swim 20 yds. crawl or breast, surface dive 7-10’, retrieve 10-lb. object, return to surface, swim back to start with object & exit water within 1 minute 40 seconds.
Participants must successfully complete all above prerequisite skills during the first class meeting to proceed with the course work. Only $50 of fee is refundable.
