Was formed to provide UWF students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to SCUBA dive together and to increase the knowledge of the sport of SCUBA diving.
Areas that are included in this increased knowledge include safety and maintenance factors, environmental concerns, and information on dive equipment and location.
The SCUBA Club provides all members of the UWF community with an opportunity to get involved with the sport of SCUBA Diving as well as snorkeling. The SCUBA Club accomplishes these goals by conducting weekly meetings, hosting guest speakers and planning various activities. Such activities include clean-up dives, day and night dives, and aid in the certification of new divers.
The UWF SCUBA Club offers an Open Water
Diver Certification Class. The next available class is set for October
3,4,10, and 11. We will have class Saturday the 3rd at 8:30 am in HLS room
211.
The class will
last about 5-6 hours. The next day we will meet at MBT Divers for a few
hours in the pool. We plan on carpooling down to the shop after the
first class session to get people everyhting they need for the pool sessions.
