Purpose: |
To supervise the Climbing Center during open climb. |
Reports To: |
Outdoor Adventures Graduate Assistant/Outdoor Adventures Coordinator |
Qualifications: |
•Practice proper top-rope belay techniques. |
Duties & Responsibilities: |
•The primary responsibility of Climbing Instructors is the safety of
participants at the Climbing Center. •Open and close the climbing center •Check-in and supervise climbers •Teach belay courses •Conduct belay tests •Inspect and manage inventory •Set climbing routes and bouldering problems with approval from Coordinator •Maintain the walls and facility •Participate in other duties and activities as needed for the benefit of the entire Outdoor Adventure program and the Recreation & Sports Services department. •Attend regular Outdoor Adventures staff meetings and all-staff trainings |
Salary: |
Starting pay is $7.00 per hour. Pay increases $0.25 per year. Training is paid. |
