Job Title:	Climbing Wall Instructor
Purpose:	To supervise the Climbing Center during open climb.
Reports To:	Outdoor Adventures Graduate Assistant/Outdoor Adventures Coordinator
Qualifications:	•Practice proper top-rope belay techniques. •Able to instruct belay clinics •Able to conduct belay checks. •Able to inspect equipment. •Ideally applicants already meet some or all of these qualifications. However, a passion for climbing, the outdoors, and teaching others is equally important, so those meeting any of these qualifications should apply. •Fall and spring staff trainings include technical skills instruction.
Duties & Responsibilities:	•The primary responsibility of Climbing Instructors is the safety of participants at the Climbing Center. •Open and close the climbing center •Check-in and supervise climbers •Teach belay courses •Conduct belay tests •Inspect and manage inventory •Set climbing routes and bouldering problems with approval from Coordinator •Maintain the walls and facility •Participate in other duties and activities as needed for the benefit of the entire Outdoor Adventure program and the Recreation & Sports Services department. •Attend regular Outdoor Adventures staff meetings and all-staff trainings
Salary:	Starting pay is $7.00 per hour. Pay increases $0.25 per year. Training is paid.
