Trip Leader |
Purpose: |
To plan, budget, conduct, and evaluate Outdoor Adventure trips. |
Reports To: |
The Outdoor Adventures Graduate Assistant/Outdoor Adventures Coordinator |
Qualifications: |
•A passion for the outdoors and teaching others. •Experience in the type of trips interested in leading. •Staff must work two trips as interns before becoming trip leaders. |
Duties & Responsibilities: |
•Trip research, planning, and paperwork. •Professional trip leadership, equipment maintenance, participation in staff trainings and meetings. •Maintenance and improvement of skills and certifications. •Marketing, availability and interest in other program functions and special events. •Help with and attend 2 trips per semester, 2 office hours per week, 1 meeting hour per week, additional time for general and special projects as available and interested. •Participate in other duties and activities as needed for the benefit of the entire Outdoor Adventure program and the Recreation & Sports Services department. •Attend regular Outdoor Adventures staff meetings and all-staff trainings. |
Salary: |
$25 per diem. Pay starts after staff work two trips and become trip leaders. Most trip leaders are also Climbing Instructors. |
