Catering is defined as the provision of food service by a commercial operation, which includes the activities of set-up, serving, and removal of food services. Catering is defined by the services performed not by the type(s) of food provided. Catering does not include food prepared by individuals and brought from home for office parties, birthdays and similar functions. Chartwells retains the obligation to provide any and all catering requests; however, the University is free to choose other catering vendors according to the following limitations and guidelines.

• Catering inside the Commons Building remains exclusive to Chartwells.


• Outside caterers (any business or individual providing catering service on the UWF campus) must have a current Escambia County Occupational License to provide catering services.
• Outside caterers must provide insurance certificates demonstrating that they have the required insurance coverage.
• All employees of the catering firm must comply with Health Department regulations and possess all required health certificates.
