Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce that the University of West Florida Board of Trustees ratified the United Faculty of Florida-UWF Collective Bargaining Agreement at its meeting today. The UWF faculty ratified the agreement by a vote taken on Aug. 19, 2010. The agreement provides a 1.7 percent increase to base salary for in-unit faculty effective August 8, 2010. The agreement also raises the promotion increase from 9 percent to 13 percent for faculty promoted to the rank of Professor.
I am pleased to extend the 1.7 percent raise to out-of-unit University Work Force employees effective August 8, 2010. Out-of-unit University Work Force employees who were in pay status as of July 1, 2010 will be eligible for this increase.
Increases for employees covered by AFSCME and PBA cannot be provided until they are negotiated with the respective unions. Meetings are scheduled with both AFSCME and PBA in the next few weeks. OPS employees and adjuncts are not eligible for this increase.
For complete details about this increase, please visit the Human Resources website at http://uwf.edu/ohr/SalaryIncrease080810.pdf.
As you know, we welcomed 11,700 highly qualified students to campus this fall and our freshman-to-sophomore retention rates rose to 80 percent. The effort of all employees in the recruitment of new students and retention of previously enrolled students is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your contribution to UWF’s success. Please accept my gratitude for your hard work.
Sincerely,
Judy Bense
President, University of West Florida
