I am pleased to announce that I am appointing Dr. Jim Hurd as interim vice president for Student Affairs. He will assume the position Aug. 1. Dr. Hurd has served UWF for more than 24 years in the Division of Student Affairs, and I am delighted that he has accepted my offer to fill this critical role on an interim basis.

A national search for the position will be conducted next year or after the UWF Board of Trustees has selected a permanent president for the university. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Hurd.
