I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kyle Marrero as interim vice president for University Advancement at the University of West Florida. Dr. Marrero currently serves as the director of the UWF School of Fine and Performing Arts and chair of the UWF Music Department. He also serves as the artistic director of Pensacola Opera.

As an academic administrator and director of the School of Fine and Performing Arts, Dr. Marrero has garnered success in his abilities to navigate curriculum, personnel and development issues. His recent development and fundraising led to the purchase of 18 new Steinway pianos, making UWF an "All-Steinway" School.

Dr. Marrero is deeply rooted in the Pensacola Arts Community and I am confident he will continue the positive momentum set by Dr. Van Galen in the area of University Advancement. He will begin the new role Aug. 1. I appreciate his willingness to serve the institution in this critical role. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Marrero.
