Faculty and Staff:
Dr. Dean Van Galen, vice president for University Advancement at the University of West Florida, has been recommended to be the next Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents is expected to take formal action on the recommendation January 16. Van Galen joined UWF in 2003 and has had a remarkably successful career in leading the UWF Foundation, Development, Alumni Relations and University Marketing Communications.
The university community is sad to see Dr. Van Galen depart. It is bitter-sweet that he has been so successful here that another university has selected him as their Chancellor (President). UWF will immediately begin a nationwide search to replace Dr. Van Galen. The Search Committee is being formed at this time. This area of the university is vital to UWF's success and growth and we need leadership at this position to keep moving forward.
Sincerely,
Judy Bense
President, University of West Florida
