Week 6: February 14

Circulation Desk

This will be provided for you each week to make sure you don't forget anything.  ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, June 28 AT 5:00 PM UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED:
  • Complete the Library Patron Feedback Form
  • Complete Chapter 8 Quiz
  • Complete Chapter 9 Quiz
  • Use any extra time to work on Section II of your Research Proposal.  The suggested activities below should guide you in that effort.

Continuing Activities from Previous Weeks:

  • Continue to identify additional empirical research articles from refereed journals that are on your research topic.  If you continue to want confirmation that the articles you find are empirical and refereed, submit the complete reference in APA format (use your book) to your instructor. Include the url of the article if you found it online.
  • Continue working on your literature map.
  • Continue reading, abstracting, and analyzing any empirical articles you identify as relevant based on the criteria given in Chapter 4.
  • As you continue to identify, read, and analyze empirical research, use the guiding questions to try to group the studies according to subtopics, similarities, differences, etc. You may want to make notes about the major results or findings so that similarities and difference can be identified easily or highlight portions of each article that make suggestions for future research.
  • REMINDER: Your rough draft of Section II is due on July 5.

Next Week
at the Library

Continue this week to identify empirical research that you will be able to include in Section II of your Proposal while we expand on the topics of sampling and measurement.  If necessary reread Chapters 6 and 7 in your Creswell text and peruse the links related to these topics.  An additional help will be to skim the final chapters of the text and decide what research design you will use for your research proposal. Next week you will begin to work on Section III of your Research Proposal independently while we continue to read about and begin discussing research designs you will choose from for Section IV of your Proposal. We will read Chapter 11 next week.
