List

This will be provided for you each week to make sure you don't forget anything.  ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, January 21 AT 5:00 PM UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED:

• Read others' posts and respond to at least 3 other crew members in the icebreaker threaded discussion from last week. [NOTE: You may be able to find your partner by reading and responding to those who you think you will work well with from reading posts]
• Read others' posts and respond to at least 3 other crew members in the Successful Distance Learner threaded discussion from last week. [NOTE: You may be able to find your partner by reading and responding to those with whom you can compensate for each other's weaknesses.]
• Logon to the Live Room within the elearning system for this course at least once.  You may chat with your partner or try to catch me. I will on chat on:
  • Tuesday, January 20, 9:00 - 9:30 PM
• Download AOL's Instant Messenger and get a screen name.  Send me your screen name so I can post it in the classlist.
• Use email, Chat, and/or IM to find 1 or 2 firehouse crew member(s) to partner with and "watch your back" when/if the flames get too hot ;-) One of you should send me an email with your names.
• Explore all the Hot Technology News Sites, find 1 or 2 that you think will be most useful, describe what you found as most useful and why and post to the listserv.
• Complete one or more online tutorials. Post a message to the listserv that provides the url of the online tutorial you used, what you learned, and your recommendation to others.

The skills you are using this week include:

• Logging in and participating in a chat room
• Downloading and participating in Instant Messaging
• Surfing the Web
• Using Online Tutorials

Next week we will be discussing Instructional Design as one of the Core Topics in Instructional Technology and discovering what's hot right now in ID.
