Welcome to your eighth week of firefighting at Firehouse 6287.

You are more than half way through this course! What a busy week of ftping everyone has had. At the time of this writing some of you have successfully ftped your first web page up to the UWF server and have sent me your url. Congratulations - this is not always the easiest task and some seem to have done it with ease! Some of you really took time and played around with the capabilities of Inspiration or other programs and it shows in your url diagrams.

I know a few are finding the empirical article search to be a challenging task. It is hard to always predict which topics will be difficult to find empirical literature on and which ones might be easier. I think most are finding some interesting articles and I am looking forward to reading your analyses.

REMINDER: As a reminder with regards to the research table summary you should be working on. Please make sure you have identified 5 empirical research studies on your research topic for this assignment. If you have not accomplished this task then try to make it a priority this week. Your completed summary table will be due in Week 11. More will come next week. If you need to confirm with me that your articles are acceptable (empirical and peer-reviewed) then feel free to drop me an email with the reference and abstract and I will send you feedback.

My goals for you during this week's drills are to:

• describe peer-to-peer networks and their uses
• discuss issues of ethics and equity related to instructional technology
• begin using PowerPoint
• make sure you have identified 5 articles for your research summary table
