teacher education.
Program Development Specialization
Prepares students to plan, supervise,
conduct, and evaluate training programs in
business, industry and government.
Career and Technical Teacher Education
Offers training in career and technical
program development and career and
technical teacher education. This program
prepares students to work in middle,
secondary, career and technical high schools,
and adult career and technical adult
education.

The Division offers a Master's Degree
Specialization in Career and Technical
Studies within the M.Ed. in Curriculum and
Instruction. The program is designed for
teachers and other persons responsible for
career, technical, and occupational programs
in public and private organizations.
Certification
Completion of this program will result in a
degree in Career and Technical Studies. Certification in career and
technical education in Florida is granted by
local districts.
The certification course sequence may be
rolled into an advanced teaching certificate
and the bachelor of science degree in career
and technical education. |

of a career and technical program has a
positive effect on employment when
students do not pursue postsecondary
education and if they obtain trainingrelated
jobs. Career and Technical
Education is a massive enterprise in the
U.S. Thousands of comprehensive high
schools, career and technical high
schools, area career and technical
centers, and community colleges offer
career and technical programs.
Virtually every high shool student takes
at least one career and technical
education course, and one in four
students are involved in career and
technical programs. In addition, as
many as 40 million adults engage in
short-term postsecondary occupational
training.
