The UWF Department of Nursing was granted full accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In 2007, the UWF Department of Nursing received the 10 year, maximum accreditation from CCNE for its Baccalaureate program. Initial accreditation visit for the Master of Science in Nursing programs will occur in fall 2013. The Florida Board of Nursing has approved the bachelor's degree in nursing program. The Department of Nursing is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The AACN, the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, recognizes the B.S.N. degree as the minimum educational requirement for professional nursing practice.
