Dr. Joe Stallings is the founder and director of the guitar programs at the University of West Florida and Pensacola State College, where he teaches Classical Guitar, Guitar Ensemble, Guitar Orchestra, Beginning Guitar Class, and Music Theory. He is also the founder and chairman of the Pensacola Guitar Society and the founder and faculty advisor for the Pensacola State College Guitar Association.
Dr. Stallings received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition and his Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Western Kentucky University, and his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Guitar Performance from Arizona State University. He is a recipient of the 1996 N.I.S.O.D. Excellence Award from The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, the 1995 Pensacola Junior College Teaching Excellence Award, and the 1992, 1988, and 1986 Department of Music and Theatre's Teaching Excellence Awards. He is a published author and composer and has been a member of the Pensacola State College Academy of Teaching Excellence since 1995.
