Apple Pie Cuts

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 large egg yolks
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup cold water
6 medium baking apples; pared & sliced
11 cup sugar
2 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 dot butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoon milk

CRUST: Combine salt and flour. Cut into shortening. Mixture is crumbly. Blend egg yolks with lemon juice and cold water. Blend into flour mixture and divide into 2 equal parts. Set aside one part and roll the other to fit the bottom and half way up sides of 9 x 13 baking pan. FILLING: Combine apples and sugar, flour and cinnamon and sprinkle over the bottom layer of dough in pan. Dot with butter. Roll out the remaining dough to fit on top of the pan. Fold down sides and seal. Make slashes in top of dough to allow steam to escape. BAKE: at 400°F, for 35 - 40 minutes GLAZE: Combine powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm pastry, slice and serve.
