Corn and Potato Chowder

1 1/2 cup milk
1 can (14 oz) corn (cream style)
6 oz (1 cup) smoked sausage, halved lengthwise; thinly sliced
1 can (14 oz) whole new potatoes; drained, coarsly chopped
1 can (15 oz) corn (whole kernel); drained
1 cup cheese (smk ched, swiss or gouda); shredded

Stir milk into creamed corn in large saucepan. Add sausage, potatoes and whole kernel corn. Heat through, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted. (1 cup cubed cooked ham may be substituted for sausage)
