| Where else could students enjoy small classes, opportunities to contribute to a growing and vibrant community, beautifully forested campuses, small classes, devoted teachers, opportunities to do one-on-one research projects on cutting edge topics, individual academic counseling, and the chance to explore career options all at one university? Hundreds of students have benefited from the internships, field studies, and the relationships they have cultivated with our faculty and staff. You'll find all of this in the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at UWF. |

- Have you ever visited a prison or jail to see what it’s really like? Would you like the opportunity to work with delinquent juveniles who are in the juvenile justice system? Have you ever wondered what happened to them or how they became delinquent? Is criminal profiling an art or a science? What are the basic steps in conducting a criminal investigation? And what do people who plan a career in law enforcement need to know about forensic science or white collar crime? These are some of the questions addressed by Criminal Justice majors.
- How would you like to learn all parts of a lawsuit? What does the Constitution have to do with the practice of law today? Did you know that most civil litigation is based on the existence of a thing called a Tort--literally to “twist?” Would you like to take a class where you can learn “Everything you ever wanted to know about sex (discrimination), but were afraid to ask?” These are some of the questions addressed by Legal Studies majors.
