The UWF College Reach-Out Program (CROP) is funded by the Florida Department of Education to provide free pre-collegiate programming to low-income, first-generation middle and high school students in the state of Florida. CROP is a nonprofit organization that helps each of its students realize that a college education is within his or her reach. CROP hosts many informational seminars that not only prepare students for college, but also help them gain a competitive advantage in life. The CROP program year culminates with the CROP Summer Residency. This program invites students to live on campus at UWF and participate in FCAT and ACT preparation as well as other entertaining and educational activities. Graduating CROP seniors are invited to take part in the CROP Summer Bridge Program, which allows them to earn up to six credit hours at UWF before beginning college in the Fall.

A Message from the Coordinator
Welcome to the 2008 Northwest Florida Consortium CROP Program! The CROP Staff has worked tirelessly to provide you with an educational, enlightening, innovative, and fun opportunity to help you turn your sights towards a college education. It is hoped that you leave this experience with a healthy respect for the rigors of a college education as well as the fuel to navigate your course to success successfully. This year, we are going to be focusing strongly on our CROP Summer Residency Program. This weeklong event will be held in June of 2008. We are calling this week “CROP Family Reunion” and will be inviting CROP Alumni to facilitate many of the academic and motivational activities throughout the week. I hope to see each and every one of you there! |
