For the past 15 years, the University of West Florida has engaged in a variety of Japanese programs and partnerships. Through these programs and partnerships, UWF has been able to provide dynamic and successful education in international cultures. UWF first offered Japanese language courses in 1987 and signed the UWF-Jikei partnership agreement in 1989. These programs have integrated campus and community, involving thousands of visitors and students from Japan and people of the community.
