International students who are coming to UWF on F-1 visas and are seeking academic degrees are required to complete and submit the following:
International students should complete the online application and submit a $30 application fee.
UWF uses 3rd party credential evaluators to validate the academic preparation and degree verification for all international applicants. A "course by course" evaluation is required for each candidate for admission and for each level of education accomplished. Because UWF is required to monitor foreign language and math credits at the secondary level, students often have to have their transcripts scrutinized to ensure they have satisfied these requirements. Two companies are noted below as "recommendations," but you are welcome to use another accredited agency. To see if the agency you wish to use is properly accredited, you can contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to discuss the company with our international student recruiter.
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
11000 University Parkway
Pensacola, FL 32514-5750
We recommend that you submit a copy of your passport with your application, so that your demographic information will be entered correctly on all of your forms.
Additional Documentation Required to Receive Form I-20
Sample I-20 and F-1 Visa
Once you have been admitted to the University of West Florida and have completed and returned all health and immunization forms, along with evidence of financial support, we can issue an I-20 for you.
Transfer Students
If you are transferring to UWF from a college or university in the United States, in addition to being admitted to UWF, you also will have to be transferred into UWF's SEVIS system from the school that previously issued your I-20. This process requires that the international student advisor at your previous school must complete and sign the Transfer Form.
The international student advisor also will have to transfer your record out of your previous school's SEVIS system and into UWF's SEVIS system.
Once this has been achieved, we will be able to issue an I-20 based on your transfer status.
Note that these procedures must be followed whether you are in a degree program at another institution or participating in intensive English classes.
