The US Brazil Environmental/Business Cross Cultural Initiative proposes cross-national curriculum development in the areas of Environmental Studies and Agribusiness through student and faculty study abroad experiences. Over the course of the project, a minimum of 32 students (18 Americans and 18 Brazilians) will be prepared in the language and culture of the country where they will spend one to two semesters studying abroad in the areas of environmental studies and agribusiness. The US-Brazil Higher Education Consortia Program is sponsored by the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) of the U.S. Department of Education and the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) of the Brazil Department of Education. This program fosters university partnerships through the exchange of undergraduate students, faculty, and staff in order to develop bilateral curricula.
