The Japanese Language and Culture Study Program in Summer 2013 is a 2-week study program at Wakayama University. Students selected to participate in this program will receive a scholarship that will cover round-trip airfare, housing, most daily meals, program related field trips, 3-day world heritage sites excursion, cultural demonstrations, overnight home-stay, exchange activities with Wakayama University students, etc. Cost to the student will be $700 (that includes a $200 non-refundable deposit) payable to UWF, tuition for 6 semester hours, textbooks, personal expenses like entertainment, incidentals, and 4-5 meals in Japan and meals when traveling to/from Japan. UWF full-time students with a GPA of 2.7 or above and those who have completed JPN II by the end of spring semester 2013 or those who have the proficiency level equivalent to JPN II are eligible to participate. Students are required to register for JPN 2990 and ANT 2990 (Summer Term D). Course information and application details are included in the program announcement. Our office is responsible for organizing and providing educational and social programs as well as coordinating campus and community services available to international students and faculty. We offer a wide array of outstanding degree programs, affordable Intensive English classes, conversation language classes, cross-cultural social activities, and more.
We also administer International Study Abroad for currently-enrolled UWF students, providing information, and/or offering limited financial support (e.g. Travel Grants). Students may choose from a wide array of study abroad program options.
