You will need either a 3.5 unweighted GPA or be in the top 10% of your graduating class AND either a 26 on the ACT or 1770 on the SAT AND a letter of recommendation. During the first fall semester as an Honors student, you must take Core I (LIT1122).
UWF Admissions automatically recalculates the GPAs of incoming students. Any AP, Dual Enrollment, IB or AICE credit in core subjects will help increase your GPA.
Yes. UWF looks at the Writing, Math, and Critical Reading scores.

You can go ahead and submit an application but you will need to write a letter of intent (stating why you want to be in the program) and sending additional letters of recommendation. We accept students on a case by case basis.

For students who are coming to UWF with less than 60 credit hours:
All of the requirements must be completed to graduate as an Honors Scholar.
A letter of recommendation should be written by someone who knows you well, such as a teacher, administrator at your school, or guidance counselor.
Yes. The Honors Program offers scholarships once a year. Applications are available on the website and are due February 1st. Please check uwf.edu/honors/scholarships for more information.
Yes. If you apply for on campus housing, and you are a freshman, you must live in Pace Hall.
Once we have received your application AND letter of recommendation, the Director or Assistant Director will review the information and you should receive a letter shortly after stating if you have been admitted or not.
Yes! The Honors Program is built around your General Studies requirements and your major. Honors Core I & Core II will cover two of your General Studies Requirements and there are plenty of Honors General Studies courses offered. If you enter UWF already completing a majority of your General Studies, you can still receive Honors credit by completing Honors by Contract courses, which are upper level (3000/4000) courses where you and your professor decided how you will receive credit for an Honors Elective.
