We encourage
you to return to or relocate in one of the three counties in Northwest Florida, become certified to teach, accept a position in our schools and allow us to track your progress.

The Hometown Heroes Teach consortium will provide counseling, screening, selection; educational financial assistance; relocation guidance; comprehensive employment planning and placement assistance in a consortium school with follow up mentoring. Eligible candidates have several options to complete the instruction in order to receive professional certification to teach in Florida schools. These options include TeacherReady™, the Alternative Certification program and course counting. For more information on these program options, please go to the "instructional certification programs" page on this website.

As part of the Hometown Heroes Teach program, you will also receive a laptop to help you with your training. Please click here for a program application which may be filled on the computer and emailed. The application uses Adobe Reader. If you don't have Adobe Reader, please click here to download a free version of the software.

Hometown Heroes Teach will assist each candidate in meeting educational and professional certification requirements for employment. Early in the program, to aid that assistance, candidates must establish personal eligibility with the school district in which employment is desired.
