We're Looking for a Few Good People

Our Mission
To serve our wounded and eligible disabled military veterans and the school districts of Northwest Florida by facilitating the path to teacher certification through programs offered at the University of West Florida thereby providing teachers to meet critical shortages in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties.

Who are we?
We are a consortium from the Florida panhandle which includes Workforce Escarosa, Inc., Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and Walton counties, the University of West Florida and Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa school districts. Hometown Heroes Teach is sponsored by the University of West Florida and funded by the Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration.

Since our country’s founding, some 48 million men and women have served in the United States military. Roughly half of them are alive today. Not every veteran has known the full wrath of battle, but every veteran has contributed to this nation and to the advance of human freedom. This nation owes each its permanent gratitude.

-Florida Congressman Jeff Miller
