Course Objective
From playground to boardroom
Upon completion of this course, student will be able to:

A. Working Budget Preparation Report
Each class member shall be assigned a working Budget to prepare. The Budget shall be prepared in writing.
Copies of the Budget shall be prepared for each class member to be included in their respective leaders' program workbook.

The Budgets should be prepared in the following order:
Priority cut list
List of incomes (from taxes and other sources)
Total of expenses
Statement of anticipated balance
Itemization of expenses
Total of income
Statement of anticipated balance

It shall include an historical, a fringe benefit, a salary justification, and fee schedules. The Budget shall be prepared for a community of 200,000 people. The community has 10 high schools, 10 middle schools, 50 grade schools (separate from parks), 40 playgrounds, 10 indoor pools at the high schools, 8 outdoor pools, a 400 acre lake, 20 TOT lots, 175 acres of beach front property on the Gulf and 18 miles of unused shoreline.

A copy of your budget shall be prepared for each class member.

Each class member shall present his Budget at a simulated board meeting.

B. Resume and Job Interview
Each class member shall prepare a resume on themself (one copy) and participate in a mock job interview that will be taped. A 1-2 page critique on "How I would improve my job marketability and interviewing skills" will be due 1 week after the interview.

C. Mid-term exam
The "In-Basket" take home exame must be completed and turned in on date assigned. See outline.

D. Risk Management
A risk management audit and assessment will be completed on a recreation sports are of campus. Due according to class outline.
A written plan conducting a softball tournament with risk management consideration will be completed as a group project.

E. Personal Best Leadership Experience Complete Personal Best exercise by date in course outline.

F. Final Exam.
