Classroom Technology Support

If you are experiencing a technology problem in a regularly-scheduled classroom, call the ITS Help Desk at 474-2075. On-site classroom technology support is available Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Classroom support calls received outside of these hours will be addressed the next business day. Please leave a message with your name and contact information, the building and room numbers, and a description of the problem.

Classroom Types

ITS places a top priority on providing faculty with the latest classroom technology, allowing them to create a multimedia learning environment for UWF students. All technology-enhanced classrooms are configured as either Hi-Tech classrooms or eClassrooms.

Hi-Tech classrooms include instructor computers, LCD projection and amplified sound systems, DVD players, and high-speed Internet. They may also contain a document camera to display transparencies, documents, and other objects on screen. eClassrooms offer all of the features of the Hi-Tech classrooms, plus instructor computers and touch panels to control all of the technology in the room. Select eClassrooms are outfitted with SMART Sympodiums with on-screen annotation capability, which allows the instructor to write on the screen with virtual ink.

Also available at UWF are Instructional Video Conferencing Classrooms, which include cameras and microphones to conduct classes with students in other Instructional Video Conferencing Classrooms, whether they be in Fort Walton Beach or the other side of the world. These classrooms also contain all of the features found in our Hi-Tech classrooms.

The online Classroom List identifies all UWF classrooms and the technology available in each room. The classroom list also includes the room schedule and photos of each room.
