IT Assistant (Part Time/Full Time)

The Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development at the University of West Florida collects, analyzes, and distributes economic data for clients seeking expert economic advice. We exist to help entrepreneurs and industry leaders, from traditional manufacturing to emerging technologies meet their information needs in the modern economy. The Haas Center specializes in data analysis for the purposes of economic forecasting, marketing research, business expansion, tourism, and real estate development as well as industry and academic studies.

Job Description:

We are looking for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology to help fill a vacancy in our IT Department preferably an upper classman. This individual does not have to be a programming guru (would be a plus), but must have some experience in programming. The job requirement that matters the most is your willingness to learn and pick up on tasks quickly. This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience in a wide variety of projects. Salary: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour.

Things you will getexperience with:

  • Web Development
  • Data Collection, integration, and manipulation
  • Develop programs and/or scripts to enhance data analysis and business productivity
  • Data Mining
  • Web Scraping
  • Mobile phone App Development
  • Hardware and software installation, backups, updates, and maintenance

Job Requirements:

  • Basic programming experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of computers
  • Willing to learn new concepts and programming languages
  • The ability to work in a team oriented environment

We are located on the University of West Florida Campus Emerald Coast campus in Ft. Walton. There is possibility of working in Pensacola depending on work schedule and carpool options available.
