Legislative Budget Information
Since the last week of March, the Florida House and Senate budget documents have been making their way through the legislative process. On Friday April 12th,
House Appropriations Bill 5001 was laid on the table after passing by only a 69-45 vote. The
Senate Appropriations Bill 1500 passed on final vote in the Senate 40-0 on April 12th. It was then sent to the House of Representatives for their consideration. The House refused to concur with the Senate budget bill and approved a request to create a conference committee.
The conference committee will include representatives from both the House and Senate. This body will meet to work out differences between the House and Senate on the Appropriations Act. The final product will be a blend of HB 5001 and SB 1500. This conference committee will also work out differences on the bills that provide implementing language for the appropriations act. These implementing bills are
House Bill 5003 and

Governor's Proposed Budget Information
Governor Rick Scott released his proposed budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. The Governor's budget provides a starting point for the legislature. The following links detail the Governor's proposed budget.

During the upcoming legislative session, the House and Senate will be proposing their own versions of the budget. We will provide information on those documents and any hearings that take place as they become available.
