The 2012 Florida Legislative Session began on January 10th. This is approximately 2 months prior to the typical session. This occurred because the legislature is completing the redistricting process following the close of the 2010 Census.
The legislature has been meeting in committees for the past few months. Already over 1000 bills have been filed for the 2012 legislative session. We have compiled a list of bills that are of high priority to the State University System. This list will be updated weekly. In addition to the bill title and description, this list will include any action taken on the bill. To download this list, please click on the link below.

During the legislative session, we will include a list of all State University System tracked bills. This list will include any upcoming hearings and action taken on the bills. The list will be in PDF format. The link will appear in the left side menu.

Mission:
It is the mission of the Governmental Relations Office to manage communications with governmental stakeholders at the local, state and federal level including agencies and elected officials. The director works with administrators, faculty, staff and students to identify issues for legislative action and works directly with legislators to effectuate outcomes beneficial to the university.
