Students completing Calculus 1 will be able to solve problems involving and understand the technical explanation for how objects change. This will include at least the following: 1. Demonstrating an understanding of how the limit concept can be used to define both instantaneous change at and the size of an irregularly-shaped object. 2. Evaluating particular limits. 3. Evaluating derivatives to describe how change occurs. 4. Using derivatives to graph functions. 5. Understanding the defintion of the size of an object using the Riemann integral. 6. Using the fundamental theorem of calculus to evaluate particular integrals.
