REQUIREMENTS FOR GAMMA BETA PHI MEMBERS SCHOLARSHIP
The Gamma Beta Phi
Honor Society of UWF will award seven $100 scholarships for the fall and spring
semester to active participating members.
Five scholarships will be available for awarding to Pensacola campus students
and two scholarships will be available for awarding to Fort Walton Beach
students. In the event that there are
not enough qualified candidates, the Executive Committee reserves the right to
determine whether to distribute additional funds to the qualified recipients or
hold the additional funds in trust for distribution in future semesters. The
scholarship may be used for tuition. The
following are the eligibility criteria:
- You
must be an active participating member of Gamma Beta Phi.
(This means you must have your
dues paid up-to-date, you must attend 4 of the 5 monthly membership meetings during
the semester, must have maintained the required GPA, and you must have earned
10 points toward active status in the previous semester).
- You
must have at least one more semester remaining at UWF (graduate or
undergraduate).
- You
may not transfer the scholarship to anyone else. If you cannot use the scholarship toward
tuition, it returns to Gamma Beta Phi, so it can be awarded to someone
else.
- Only
one scholarship will be awarded per person in any given school year.
- You
may not have been on in-active status for more than one semester.
All eligible members will have
their name placed on a ticket and placed in a box. The Advisor will withdraw
five names from Pensacola
campus and three names from the Fort Walton Beach
campus and the scholarships awarded.
